Economic development is key in order to reduce poverty and expand wealth creation and social and economic benefits to all. By emphasising green economy as one of NIRAS key sectors, we work to enhance the productive natural resource sectors contribution to a sustainable development and reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities.
We work to enhance the productive natural resource sectors contribution to a sustainable development and reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities. In this regard, we share the growing recognition that current economic models are too limited, given the persistence of poverty, social inequalities, pollution and environmental degradation, and the additional challenge of climate change. We are thus committed in all our engagements to promote green growth, assist in building a green economy and ensure human well-being in a world undergoing rapid transformation.
NIRAS works with all aspects of Green Economy. It cuts across and is relevant for most of what we do. We see multiple opportunities for “greening of the economy” and securing inclusive green growth. Our holistic knowledge base provides a strong basis for advising and engaging stakeholders and decision makers. We mainstream and include the green dimension in all our work, naturally most fundamentally in our natural resource oriented projects and activities and our specific business lines environment, energy, forestry, land and climate change.
