Short notice: VET in Azerbaijan
The Technical Assistance Project “EU Support to Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Azerbaijan” lead by NIRAS, was officially launched last week on June 7, 2017 at Boulevard hotel, Baku.
The opening ceremony counted with more than 90 participants and key speakers including: the Minister of Education, Mr. Mikayil Jabbarov, the Director for Neighborhood East, Mr. Lawrence Meredith, the head of EU Delegation, Mrs. Malena Mard, and the Member of Parliament, Mr. Isa Habibbayli.
The project was presented by the NIRAS team members followed by discussions of questions from the audience and final remarks made by the Director of the Agency for Vocation Education and Training, Mr. Famil Mustafayev.
This VET project* is an important flagship for both EU and the country. So the expectations are high and we at NIRAS Sweden have important challenges ahead of us.
Participating from NIRAS at the event were Alicia Borges Månsson (Project Director), Bertil Oskarsson and Vladimir Topuzovic (Assistant Project Director).
*The project overall objective is to enhance the attractiveness and labour market relevance of all levels of VET through assisting the Ministry of Education/Agency for VET in:
a) improving VET policy and regulatory framework;
b) improving VET multi-level management system and governance;
c) developing VET qualifications (educational standards) and curricula; and
d) supporting the Ministry of Education in the monitoring of VET reforms.
