Value Chain and Agribusiness component under The Rural Private Sector Support Programme (RPSSP), Ukraine

NIRAS managed the Value Chain and Agribusiness component under The Rural Private Sector Support Programme (RPSSP) financed by Danida in Ukraine 2009-2013. The programme is part of the Danish Neighbourhood Programme and the overall objective is ‘Increased livelihoods through creation of Medium and Small Size Enterprises (MSME).

The objective of the value chain component was to strengthen long-term profitability and employment of two agricultural value chains in the Lviv Oblast, namely the dairy products and the fruits & vegetables value-chains. Our technical assistance aimed at promoting economic development in the Lviv Oblast by strengthening the rural Small and Medium Sized Entreprises (SMEs) in the area. Also, The project facilitated dialogue and information sharing to promote an enabling business environment for SMEs (including  government regulations and policies aimed at promoting economic development).

Via a Facilitating Office the Consultant assists local stakeholders in producing the outputs envisaged for the Agribusiness Component of the Rural Private Sector Development Programme.
