Kristina Mastroianni is the Technical Director for Agriculture within NIRAS International Consulting (NIC) and Manager for Team Resilience within NIRAS Indevelop. Kristina has a long experience of evaluation, quality assurance and financial management of Sida funded projects and programmes as well as for other donors such as NORAD, WB, ADB, EBRD, EU and UNOPS/UNDP.

Kristina holds an MSc in Biology/Agriculture, combined with extensive academic studies in Rural Development. She has through her work gained a thorough experience of value chain aspects and the need for capacity building within agricultural markets and sustainable production systems in a development context. She has a good overview of the actors and stakeholders involved both in Sweden and internationally and a good understanding of their current policies. Her experience range from project management of large scale, long term implementation projects to performing targeted evaluations, assessments and quality assurance of agricultural development projects. Through environmental and gender assessments in large agricultural projects she has gained valuable experience in using participatory and human rights based approaches to evaluate the impact of the project to gender equality and the environment and propose recommendations for improvements to the workplan. She has worked with projects across many regions; Eastern Europe (Macedonia, Serbia), Asia (Vietnam, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan), Africa (Zambia, Kenya, Egypt, Tanzania, Uganda) and Latin America (Guatemala, Cuba, Peru).

As Programme Director for two Sida-funded International Training Programmes, she has experience from planning curriculum and implementing interactive training in Sweden and in participating countries. Since 2014 Kristina is working as the QA Expert for the Sida-funded Kenyan Agriculture Sector Development Support Programme (ASDSP). Before starting her position at NIRAS, Kristina worked as a consultant for the Agriculture and Rural Development Department at the World Bank in Washington, DC, USA.

Kristina is fluent in Swedish and English and she speaks intermediary Spanish and French.
